To be honest, any game on the Oculus Quest is generally going to give you some form of fitness anyway because by its very nature virtual reality encourages movement. So whether that’s duck, dive, weaving, or whatever, through a game, you’re generally going to be quite active, and any game that encourages activity is going to help you reach your fitness goals. Every game on this list, apart from one, has been rated by the VR Institute for Health and Exercise. Now they’ve rated every game based on the number of calories per minute that each game burns and also giving it an equivalent normal activity rating.
So this ranges from resting, which is burning one to two calories a minute, through to biking which burns 10 to 13 calories per minute. So generally we’ll be working our way up the intensity rating as we go through the countdown. Let’s get into the top 10!

So we’re going to start slow here with ‘Super Hot‘. Whilst not explicitly a fitness game, the nature of the game does force you to move around, albeit in slow movements, and so is a great intro to getting yourself moving.
This game sees you moving through stop-motion levels where you have to kill all the bad guys before they kill you. You move and time moves. You stop moving, and time stops moving.
It reminds us a lot of the stop-motion shooting scenes from The Matrix. This makes it a great entry into fitness as it will get you slowly limbering up and stretching those arms and legs as you move around trying to progress, and as such is rated as a walking game, burning two to four calories a minute.

2. Eleven Table Tennis – $19.99
Now that we’re all limbed up it’s time to take it up a little. Eleven is regarded as the best table tennis simulator on the Oculus Quest and is rated as an elliptical game burning four to six calories a minute.
The physics in this game, as you spin and slice the ball, is impressive and makes this the closest thing you’ll actually get to play the game in real life. You can start with the mini-games to get you learning the mechanics of the game and improve your skills and then move on to AI computer opponents.
Crank the difficulty level all the way up to world master though and you could find your game over in minutes! This game also allows you to go online and play against other real opponents, so it’s a great way to meet up with other like-minded people and make fitness fun. Buy Now.
3. Holopoint – $14.99
Whilst not strictly a fitness game it’s the nature of the game that actually makes this one of the toughest workouts and a must-have on many people’s fitness games list.
The premise of the game sees you donning your archery skills to fight your way through waves of responsive targets, samurai, and ninjas. It’s a simple concept and simply exhausting.
It could do with more variety in the backgrounds just to make things a little more interesting but honestly, you don’t have much time to look at it as it’s a fast-paced panic-ridden attempt to shoot everything in sight. Best oculus quest 2 fitness games.

4. Beat Saber – $29.99
Rhythm games were, and still are, one of the most popular genres of games on the Oculus Quest, with Beat Saber probably the most well-known of all rhythm games. You have to do some kind of action in time to the music.
In Beat Saber, you have two lightsabers that are color-coded and you have to swipe at the same respective color-coded blocks in the direction of the arrow that’s on the block, as it rushes towards you. It is rated as a medium-intensity game.
Beat Saber will fail your attempt to the level if you miss too many blocks. It’s therefore a tough game to rate in terms of fitness as it can be very start-stop and therefore difficult to maintain an elevated heart rate for any period of time. As it stands though, Beat Saber is a well-polished rhythm game, and with the recent addition of multiplayer mode, you can now go online and play the same track with your friends all at the same time. 5. Supernatural – $20 per month
This is another rhythm-style game that sees you don baseball bats to hit orbs as they come towards you. However, with a focus purely on fitness, if you miss one it’s not going to end your current session.
The orbs are also positioned to give you the best possible workouts. The game will alter the frequency and position of the orbs too depending on your performance so it really is aiming to be a fitness game for all people.
And that there is the problem because it isn’t for all people! You can only buy this game if you live in the US or Canada. Any other country in the world and you’re out of luck.
This is largely due to licensing issues with the audio tracks that they use in the game, but it’s still disappointing to see. This is also the only game in this list that operates under a subscription model.
You have to pay $20 a month to access the workouts. You can get an annual subscription but it’s not cheap by much. It is a great game that puts fitness front and center, with great soundtracks and new workouts every day.
There’s a lot of variety in the track options, but it’s still all in the same style of game. If there’s one thing that kills fitness goals it’s boredom and repetition. For the same annual cost of Supernatural, you could buy all the other games on this list!

6. FitXR – $29.99
Previously known as BoxVR, the re-branded FitXR sees the game studio repositioning itself as a more general fitness platform, which now sees the provision of dance workouts as well as the standard boxing-based ones. Best oculus quest 2 fitness games.
At its heart, it’s still a rhythm game but the important difference here is that FitXR is a fitness game that happens to be a rhythm game, rather than say Beat Saber which is a rhythm game that happens to have a fitness benefit.
This focus on fitness provides you with a great variety of workouts to help you reach your goals faster. The dance workouts definitely add a breath to a game that was otherwise largely an upper body workout and sees the game receive a high fitness rating.

7. Oh Shape – $19.99
‘Oh Shape‘ is a game unlike any other, which sees you using your whole body to duck, dive, and weave your way around obstacles, punch walls, collect coins, and strike a pose to get through the myriad of walls that come straight for you.
There are four difficulty levels, so there’s a level to suit most people. Weaving around the walls, punching through them, and striking a pose like Madonna, is thoroughly engaging and fun and will see you keeping active for hours without even realizing it.
The developers often release new content to keep it fresh and it even allows you to create your own levels using your own songs which is awesome. It’s a whole-body workout, which gives it a high fitness rating and it’s super fun. Buy Oh Shape
8. Audio Trip – $19.99
It’s primarily another rhythm game here, but the focus here is definitely on dance moves, which see you moving fluidly from one transition to the next rather than the hack and slash mentality that other rhythm games such as Beat Saber promote.
If you’ve ever danced to electronica and raved it away till the early hours then you’ll get the idea of it. Largely stand in one spot, wave your hands around wildly to some super upbeat tempo.
The way that they’ve incorporated the transitions really does make it feel like you’re dancing through and so adds a unique feel to it compared to other games in this genre.

9. Pistol Whip – $24.99
Whilst not a fitness game front and center, We can assure you that this game will get your heart rate up. The game sees you propelled down a path having to shoot various silhouetted bad guys as they come out of every nook and cranny to try and shoot you, whilst also avoiding the bullets coming at you in matrix-style slow-mo, all the while doing this to the thump of some awesome soundtracks.
The developers are constantly releasing new content for this, and certainly, some of the recent levels released will have you exhausted at the end of it. It’s that constant variety that keeps the game engaging and new.
It’s an action-packed and fast-paced game and on the harder levels, your quads are going to be killing you with the amount of ducking and diving you do in this game to avoid the bullets, walls, and obstacles that line your way.

10. Thrill of the Fight – $9.99
This is the highest-rated fitness game that the VR institute reviewed, giving it a ‘rowing’ status, equivalent to burning 8 to 10 calories a minute, and it’s easy to see why.
Whereas other boxing games opt for more of an arcade-style of boxing, this is a true simulator where you get as much out of it as you put in. The game monitors the strength of your punches and adapts the game appropriately so no matter how strong you are you will have an equal chance of progressing and completing the game.
There is a training gym so you can practice your combos and speed work and train with a sparring partner before heading into the ring. But it’s the ring itself where you will spend most of your time.
This is a full room-scale VR. You will definitely need space for this one, as you find yourself moving around the boxing ring trying to find that opening to take your opponent down.
It not only exercises your arms and upper body but your core will feel it too as your body stabilizes you through full-on heavy air punches. This game is a serious fitness workout if you put the effort in. The fact that it’s only $9.99 is the icing on the cake here and makes it the number one fitness game for me.

Facebook’s Oculus Move Fitness Tracker App
Fortunately Facebook, at the launch of the Oculus Quest 2, announced Oculus Move. This is a fitness tracking app that will allow you to track things like your activity minutes spent, and your calories burnt, across multiple games.
So regardless of which one you play, it’s going to track it all from a single place. Facebook says they’re going to start rolling this out to customers by the end of the year.
